This guide provides step-by-step instructions for administrators to install and configure the Virto Calendar app for Microsoft Teams or SharePoint. It covers the installation process, necessary permissions, and initial configuration steps to ensure the app functions correctly.
This step should be performed by a Tenant Administrator only.
Step 1: Authorization
Upon first use, a permissions request will appear. Click “Login to Azure AD.”
The tenant administrator should check "Consent on behalf of your organization" and click "Accept." This prevents the permissions request pop-up for each user.
If you don’t receive this alert message, skip this step.
Step 2: Grant Permissions
Open the Virto Calendar Overlay app settings and click the "Edit Calendar" icon on the top left.
In calendar settings, the administrator will see a message requiring additional permissions. Click "Grant required permission."
A window with an expanded list of required permissions will open. Click the checkbox and then the "Accept" button.
Appointing License Manager and/or Calendar Manager
After installing the Virto Calendar app, you must appoint a License Manager and/or Calendar Manager. This step is crucial for effectively managing licenses and calendar settings.
To assign these roles, follow the detailed instructions in our documentation.
User Permissions
Permissions for Virto Calendar are inherited from SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams user privileges. This ensures that existing user roles and permissions are respected and applied within the Virto Calendar app.
Within the app, you can assign specific roles such as calendar manager or license manager to manage calendar settings and licenses.
Configuring Permissions
Click the cog icon in the upper right corner of the app.
Select "Settings" then the "Permission" tab.
Assign users as calendar managers or license managers.
