This guide provides step-by-step instructions for administrators to install and configure Virto Calendar App for Microsoft Teams or SharePoint. It covers the installation process, necessary permissions, and initial configuration steps to ensure the app functions correctly.
Appoint a License Manager and/or Calendar Manager
After installing Virto Calendar App, you must appoint a License Manager and/or Calendar Manager. This step is crucial for effectively managing licenses and calendar settings.
To assign these roles, follow the detailed instructions in our documentation.
User Permissions
Permissions for Virto Calendar App are inherited from SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams user privileges. This ensures that existing user roles and permissions are respected and applied within the Virto Calendar App.
Within the app, you can assign specific roles, such as calendar manager or license manager, to manage calendar settings and licenses.
Configuring Permissions
Click the cog icon in the upper-right corner of the app.
Select "Settings" followed by the "Permission" tab.
Assign users as calendar managers or license managers.
This step should be performed by a Tenant Administrator only.
Step 1: Authorization
Upon first use, a permission request will appear. Click “Login to Azure AD.”
Next, check "Consent on behalf of your organization" and click on "Accept." This will prevent the permission request pop-up for each user.
If you don’t receive this alert message, skip this step.
Step 2: Grant Permissions
Open the Virto Calendar App settings and click the "Edit Calendar" icon on the top left.
In settings, you will see a message requiring additional permissions. Click "Grant required permission."
A window with an expanded list of required permissions will open. Click the checkbox and then the "Accept" button.

Now, the app is ready for configuration! Click “Configure my Virto calendar.”
To create your first Virto calendar, specify the name of the new calendar.
Then, choose a SharePoint calendar to take data from. If you do not have an appropriate SharePoint calendar on your site, you will see “No calendars existing.” In this case, you can add available Outlook calendars from the list. When you're finished, click "Create & Go."
Check out your first Virto calendar!
VirtoSoftware does not store your data. Permissions are required to display overlaid calendars in real-time to a user who opens the Calendar app. The tool has access to the permissions provided only when this user works with Virto Calendar App. A private key is generated for this session, which nobody except this user reuses for future data access: new session, new private key.
Step 2: Add the app to the site page
Step 3: Set up the authorization and permissions
Step 4: Configure Virto Calendar App
Book a free 15-minute meeting with our technical team if you have any issues with installation or configuration!
If you install the app and skip the checkbox "Consent on behalf of your organization," or if anything went wrong and you need to reset the authorization and permissions, follow these steps:
Use the browser incognito mode and log in to your Azure portal.
Go to Azure Active Directory > Enterprise applications > Virto Apps.
Delete the Virto Apps.
Return to the installed Virto Calendar App on SharePoint or Teams.
Repeat the "Authorization and Permissions" steps.
Click here to read more about Virto Apps.
When you have added Virto Calendar App to a SharePoint site page, you can switch between the available calendars using the calendar selector. Sometimes, however, you may need to choose a single calendar to show on the page. In this case, switch to edit mode and click the “Edit web part” icon.
In the web part settings, choose the default calendar you wish to show and uncheck the “Show calendar selector” option. Republish the page.
Now, only the chosen calendar will appear on this page.
Each SharePoint list and event list has its "Permissions for this list" settings. Here is how you can find them:
By default, the settings for each list are inherited from the general settings of the current site. Information about this appears in a yellow window when you go to settings. If you click on the name of the site whose permissions inherit the selected sheet, you will be brought to the permissions settings of that site.
The Permission Levels menu will appear in the site's header. You can see all the current permission settings for each user group by clicking it.
You can create user groups with different permissions by clicking "Add a Permission Level." You can give users permissions ranging from viewing the sheet to complete control. Virto Calendar App inherits these same permissions.
From these list permissions, only four are relevant to the Virto Calendar App.
Suppose you want to configure a user's ability to add, edit, delete, and view calendar events. In that case, you must select or deselect these settings:
Add Items - the ability to add new events to the calendar
Edit Items - the ability to edit any calendar events
Delete Items - the ability to delete any calendar event
View Items - the ability to only view the calendar events in lists
Outlook Calendar has a similar logic: different permissions can be granted to various users, from "Read Only" to "Delegate" access, where an authorized user can edit and create events on behalf of another user. Virto Calendar App inherits them accordingly.
To access the Virto Calendar App permissions settings, click the cog icon in the upper right corner and click “Settings.”
Then, click the “Permission” tab.
Here, you will find three categories of permission settings: tenant, a current site, and user permissions.
Check the first box in the first set in case you wish to make calendars and data sources accessible on the particular site collection where they were created.
Next, check the corresponding box if, in the current site, you want to show calendars and sources from this site only.
To select users who can edit a Virto calendar, type their name, surname, or email and click “+” to add them to the list of allowed users.
You can assign them the roles of Calendar Manager or License Manager. License managers can assign calendar managers, while calendar managers can edit calendar and data source settings on the current site collection.
As you may have noticed, the possibility of editing some users is muted. These users are site collection administrators. Therefore, to remove these users from the list of allowed users, you must remove them from site collection administrators.
To edit the list of site collection administrators, go to your site collection settings. To do this, go to your SharePoint page, click on the cog icon in the upper right corner, and click “Site permissions.”
Then proceed to “Advanced permissions settings.”
In the top menu, click on “Site Collection Administrators.”
Now, you can edit the site administrators by typing their names to find and add new administrators or by clicking “x” to unassign any current administrator.
Open the “Site contents” menu on the SharePoint site where you’d like to add the Virto Calendar App. Click “+” in the top panel and choose “App.”
Click “Find more apps in the SharePoint Store” and search for "Virto Calendar." Click on the app.
Click “Add it” or “Request.”
Virto Calendar App will be installed on your SharePoint site with a valid license.
Virto Calendar App roles and permissions
There are two levels of permissions that are relevant to Virto Calendar App.
First level: The permissions of the SharePoint site itself, set by the Site Administrator for user groups / specific users. Virto Calendar App inherits these permissions.
Second level: The Virto Calendar Overlay permissions, whereby you can assign a user as a calendar manager who can modify calendar settings. Please go to the subpages to find out where to find these settings and how to configure them.
At the moment, when the Tenant Administrator selects “Consent on behalf of your organization” and authorizes Virto Calendar App, calendar permissions are the same for all users.
Read how to add SharePoint lists as data sources to your Virto calendar.
You can use any SharePoint list with start and end date fields as a data source for your Virto calendar. Go to the Adding a New Data Source guide to see how.
Here, you can find detailed information about calendars and data sources that you can overlay in Virto Calendar App for SharePoint.
With Virto Calendar App, you can overlay various calendars in a single calendar view. Let’s see which calendars you can use as data sources.
You can create an unlimited number of calendars with multiple data sources.
With Virto Calendar App, you can combine any number of Exchange Online shared and personal calendars into a single calendar. This is the fastest way to create a calendar overlay because no special fine-tuning is required for this data source.
If you use a shared mailbox to book meeting rooms in SharePoint, you can add it to the Virto Calendar App to track meeting rooms in a single place.
It is one of the most popular options for overlaying calendars. Use SharePoint lists (including lists in a calendar view) as data sources for your overlay. You can overlay an unlimited number of lists in a single view.
Do you have tasks in Microsoft Planner? Add these to your Virto Calendar App, too.
Public folders in SharePoint are designed for shared access. Since every public folder has a mailbox, it can be easily added to a Virto calendar as a data source.
An iCalendar or .ics feed is a unique calendar format for most calendar solutions. Generate iCal links and overlay events from Google Calendar or any other external calendar that supports iCalendar feeds.
Open the site page where you’d like to add Virto Calendar. Switch to edit mode and click “+.” Search for Virto Calendar and add it to your page.
Virto Calendar App supports adding meeting rooms to a single calendar view. Many companies use shared email for booking meeting rooms, and you can add such an email address to your calendar settings to view meetings directly in a Virto calendar.
To add meeting rooms to your calendar, click the calendar name to open its settings.
Scroll down to “Exchange settings” and type in your company or team's email address used for booking meeting rooms.
You can use the same method to add other users’ calendars and meeting rooms. If the chosen user shares more than one calendar, you can add all of them.
Check the box for “Show all.” Click “Save.”
Now, your calendar includes the meeting rooms of the email addresses you added.
In this step, you will see permission request. Click “Login to Azure AD.”
If you have tenant administrator rights, check "Consent on behalf of your organization" and click "Accept." Alternatively, contact your Tenant Administrator to do this.
By checking this box, the administrator authorises all users in Azure so that not every user receives the permissions request pop-up all the time when using the app.
If you don't receive this alert message, just skip this step.
Next, the administrator should open the Virto Calendar App and click the "Edit Calendar" icon on the top left.
In the calendar settings, the administrator will see a message on the right-hand side stating that Virto Calendar App requires additional permissions.
These permissions need to be granted to the application so it can identify the type of user (site administrator, some other user with permissions, etc.) to be able to create and edit information in the application.
As the administrator, click on "Grant required permission."
A window with an expanded list of required permissions to use the Virto Calendar App will open. Click the checkbox and the "Accept" button.
There are two levels of permissions that are relevant to the Virto Calendar App. Please check the User Permissions for more detailed information.
Permissions are required to enable the calendar overlaying feature of the Virto Calendar App. However, please note that these permissions are delegated and activated only by a specific user from your company with their permission.
Virto Calendar App supports adding tasks from Microsoft Planner to your Virto calendar for efficient collaboration and team planning.
To achieve this, navigate to the Virto Calendar App settings by clicking on the calendar name.
In Edit calendar, Scroll down to “Exchange settings” and check the box “Display tasks from MS Planner.”
Remember to save the calendar settings. Now, you can see your Planner tasks in your Virto calendar without switching between the apps.
Virto Calendar App supports the overlaying of Exchange personal and shared calendars (Outlook calendars). To overlay Exchange calendars, open the calendar settings by clicking the calendar name.
Scroll down to “Exchange settings” and pick the Exchange calendar you wish to show in your Virto calendar.
Chosen calendars will appear in a single calendar view.
If you are a member of many groups, this view may not be convenient for certain purposes. For example, when you need to view marketing group events separately and need the option to overlay or turn them off, the method presented in Outlook Group Calendar for adding meeting rooms may work better.
This guide shows you how to add a new calendar from a SharePoint list.
First, click the calendar name.
Choose one of two options in the “General” tab: “Add existing data source” or “Create new SharePoint data source.”
Add existing data source
If you add an existing data source, choose a SharePoint list from the drop-down list.
You can also find all the available lists displayed in this drop-down list in the "Available SharePoint data sources" tab.
Use the checkboxes to determine whether the calendar should be read-only, whether it should be shown in the calendar, and whether events should be hidden.
Click “Add” at the bottom of the window. The new data source will now appear in the list.
Create new SharePoint data source
if you add a new source, choose a SharePoint list from the available list and fill in the required fields: name, site URL, data source time zone, fields for event title, start date, and end date.
For a calendar to display the time correctly, ensure that Datasource Timezone matches the time zone in SharePoint settings.
To check if they match, go to your SharePoint site, click on the gear in the upper right corner, then find "Site settings" => "Regional settings," and make sure the time zones match.
Back to datasource settings, choose a color for the new data source. Click the palette icon within the color menu to pick from the full palette.
Select the fields you wish to show in the calendar tooltip. The same option is available for the event form (opens when you create or edit an event).
When ready, click “Save” to save the new data source.
If you are a member of many groups, this method is the best choice for achieving a clear visual distinction. With it, you can view group events (for your Outlook groups) separately and overlay or turn them off at any time.
To set up a separate calendar view for a user group from Outlook, follow these steps:
Open Outlook in your browser.
Go to 'Groups' in the left pane menu and locate the group you want to add. Click on it and copy its email address.
Back to Edit calendar in your Virto calendar settings, select "Display the following list of calendars and Meeting rooms" and paste the email address below.
In this section of the guide, you can find details about the “General” tab.
In the “General” tab, you can change the calendar name and add a data source (from an existing data source or by creating a new one).
You can enable the "Add event status to title" option, "Use the client's time zone to view events," and select the fields displayed for various views (week, month, etc.).
You can filter Exchange events by status or display all of them.
In the "General" tab, you can add an ICS calendar from the Internet by pasting in its iCal URL.
If you have too many color-coded categories, you can unify them for better visualization. For more details, see the description in the “Unify Categories” section. If you only want to display events in a particular category, check the box “Show events of these categories only.”
Virto Calendar App supports adding locations from an available list. To choose a location for your calendar entry, select it from the list in the event settings. This option also saves the location field for Outlook entries.
Define the default calendar view, displayed when you navigate to the SharePoint site page where the calendar is added.
You can use the general settings to decide whether to display the data source legend, set the tooltip width, choose the views to display, and more.
Remember to save the changed settings by clicking “Save” before closing the settings.
Public folders can also be added to Virto Calendar App as a data source. If you’re using public folders (created in the Exchange admin center), you can overlay them with your Virto calendar.
First, click the calendar name.
In Edit calendar, scroll down to “Exchange settings” and check the box “Display events from Public Folders Calendar(s).”
Next, save and open the calendar, and the added public folders will appear.
All available data sources for a Virto calendar are listed in the “Available SharePoint data sources” tab. You can use them to create various combinations of data sources in different calendars.
The list of SharePoint data sources added to a Virto calendar is sorted in alphabetical order by default. You can change the default order by using the arrows or check the box “Use the exact data source order” to show data sources in order of creation.
Virto Calendar App supports viewing events as tasks or a Gantt view. For these views, you can specify the day count, item height, number of columns per hour, and the time format in the header.
If you have multiple data sources with various categories, too many colors in the calendar may be confusing.
In this case, you can unify the categories. Just decide once which colors to use for each category in your calendar: divide all the events into groups, such as meetings, birthdays, or get-together events, and specify the colors for them. These colors will be the same for each data source in your calendar.
To do this, find the “Common categories” block in the “General” tab and choose the colors for the categories you will use.
Now, all the data sources of your Virto calendar have the same color-coded categories. If it still looks over-colored, you can hide some categories (for instance, your personal events) for all the data sources and show only the essential ones. Leave the categories you will use and select the checkbox “Show events of these categories only“.
From now on, only the chosen events will be displayed in your calendar.
The list of available calendars appears in the "Available calendars" section in the Virto Calendar App settings. To add a new calendar, click "Create New" and choose (or create) a data source as described in the "Adding a New Data Source" section.
In this way, you can create multiple calendars with various combinations of data sources and switch between them without needing to open the settings again.
The "Year" tab allows you to define the display mode, item height, the text displayed if there are additional items, and the month when the first quarter starts.
The multi source view lets you see all events planned for a day, grouping them by source. In this view, you can resize or edit events but not move events from one source to another.
In the day, week, and work week views, you can create and delete events or drag and drop them to reschedule.
In the month view, you can create, move, and delete events.
Year and year quarter views allow you to view events.
Virto Calendar App offers various types of event views: Day, Week, Month, Year, Work Week, Task (days), Task (hours), and Multi Source. You can switch between these views within the calendar to change how the events are displayed.
To create an event, open the appropriate view tab, such as "Month." Use your mouse to select the desired time period for the event (by dragging and dropping) or simply click on the day. Enter the event name, choose the calendar and category, specify the start and end dates, and location, then click "Save." You can also make the event recurring and add additional details such as attendees, a description, and attachments.
You can change events' duration by dragging their border or resizing them.
Year view does not support drag & drop. Resizing events is available in the Day, Week, and Work Week views.
Click on the event, then click "Edit" in the tooltip to modify the event.
The panel on the top of the calendar contains a refresh button, navigation buttons, a search string, and dropdowns of categories and views.
If your calendar contains too many events, just start typing the title of the event you’re searching for and click “Search.” The calendar will filter events and display only the ones you need.
Show and hide data sources by clicking them.
In the Virto Calendar App, you can set up recurring events when using either a SharePoint calendar or Outlook calendar as a data source.
Suppose you have a Virto calendar that incorporates Outlook events. Navigate to it and create a new event. Then, open the drop-down menu to access the options for setting up recurring events.
Use these settings to create events that recur daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can specify whether they will occur on a particular date or weekday. Additionally, you can set an end date or determine the events to conclude after a certain number of occurrences.
The result looks as follows:
It is also possible to save a single recurring event to your Outlook calendar. This is useful when you need to add a specific event from a series to your Outlook calendar. This action will generate an iCal file, as described in the "Add SharePoint Events to Outlook" section.
You can create Microsoft Teams meetings directly from Virto Calendar App events. There's no need to add Virto Calendar App as a separate tab in Microsoft Teams. Simply edit events in your Virto calendar and incorporate them into your Microsoft Teams calendar as meetings.
This feature is available for the Outlook calendar data source. Make sure your Outlook calendar supports this option.
Ensure you have Outlook (Exchange Online) selected as a data source in your Virto calendar. To do this, open the current calendar settings by clicking the calendar name.
Scroll down to "Exchange settings" and ensure you have selected at least one of the three Outlook exchange options.
Return to the calendar and select the event you wish to add to Teams. Check the "Teams meeting" box in the top right corner and save the event.
Open your Microsoft Teams calendar to view the newly added Outlook event.
Virto Calendar App supports adding iCalendar feeds to your Virto calendar view.
An iCalendar feed, or .ics feed, is a universal calendar format compatible with most calendar solutions.
Its primary purpose is to facilitate sharing calendar data between different calendars and calendar applications. Virto Calendar App enables adding events from online calendars that support iCal feeds through an iCalendar link.
To incorporate events from an external calendar into your Virto calendar, follow three simple steps:
Create a new Virto calendar to add the events.
Navigate to the external calendar—for instance, Google Calendar—and generate a calendar link.
Copy the link and add it to Virto Calendar App (under "Internet calendars" in the calendar settings).
For the external calendar to display correctly in the Virto calendar, its link should start with https://. Should yours look different, please change it manually.
iCalendar feeds are read-only. Users can view the calendar but cannot edit it.
Go to Google Calendar and click the three-dot icon next to the calendar you want to share in the “My Calendars” list. Click “Settings and sharing.”
Under "Access permissions and events" select "Make available to public".
Scroll down to the iCal format links (below the “Integrate calendar” subheading) and copy the generated iCalendar link.
Open the Virto calendar settings and paste the copied link into the “Internet Calendars” block.
All the events from the Google calendar will now appear in your Virto calendar.
Use this method to add events from any external calendar that supports the iCalendar feed.
The "Multiday" tab contains preferences for views that span more than one day. Here, you can define the row height, number of rows, time labels per hour, time format, font size, and font weight.
In the "Month" tab, you can customize your preferences for the month view: define the display mode, item height and font size, set the text for additional items, and determine the number of weeks in a month.
You can also enable the option to “Hide event start time on the event card.”
allows you to create custom alerts, reminders, notifications, and summary emails. In addition, you can define cases in which you or your team will get email notifications. For example, you can create email templates that will be sent out to specific users when certain list changes are made or a deadline is approaching. The app can also send a “newsletter”, like a summary email every day, week, month, or once any other period.
After setting up the , launch it from your Site Contents folder. You will see two buttons, “Add Alert” and “Add Reminder,” on the ribbon.
An alert is the notification you get if the value of the list item was changed, added, or deleted. In other words, the alert needs to be triggered by some change in a SharePoint list.
Click “Add Alert.”
Choose the list for which you want to create an alert.
Choose the change type that you want to be notified about. Then, give a title to your alert.
Specify recipients in the “Recipients” menu.
Create an alert message that will be sent out to recipients. You can configure the template to automatically substitute the values of changed parameters. To do so, click the “Tag” icon and specify the list of items you want to notify recipients if they got changed.
In the “Options” menu, you can specify the conditions for sending an alert, such as when a particular person changes the list.
When you click “Preview,” you will see the example of an email sent to the recipients when the alert is triggered.
The reminder settings are almost identical to the alerts. Only the triggers and cases when reminders are sent differ.
To add SharePoint events to your Outlook calendar, create an iCalendar (.ics) file to add the event to Outlook.
To do it, select the event and click the “Add” icon on the bottom left of the event card.
Save the automatically generated .ics file. Next, open Outlook and click the “Add calendar” button.
Then, select the “Upload from file” option and drag and drop your event file into the designated area. From the dropdown menu, choose the calendar to which you want to add your event and click “Import.”
The chosen event will appear in your Outlook calendar with the same data as in the Virto calendar. In this way, the team members can add any events they wish to see to their Outlook calendar.
You may also want to discover the short video instructions on with the Virto Alerts & Reminder App.
A reminder is a notification based on the date in the list or document library: on the event that will happen in the future, not the one that already happened (unlike alerts). Read the “Basic options for common users” part in the to understand the difference and see the provided use cases for alerts and reminders.
In the "Calendar" tab, you can set working days, select the day the week starts, and define the duration of the workday.
The Gantt view in Virto Calendar App is available in two formats: task (days) and task (hours). These views enable the grouping of items by events, allowing you to see precisely how much time has been allocated for them. You can create, delete, and drag and drop events in this view.
Since any field of type integer can be defined as a completions rate field, the percentage is not displayed if the field's value is higher than 100 percent.
To set up your SharePoint list alerts, open your Lists app and go to the "Alert me" menu by clicking the three dots on the ribbon.
In the pop-up, you will see all available alert settings. You can receive alerts by email or by SMS. You can also choose different conditions for which you want to receive alerts.
Follow the link to Microsoft support if you want to learn more about what each settings item means.
To set up notification settings in Planner, go to the Planner app and click the gear icon on the ribbon. Then click “Notifications.”
Notifications settings in Planners include email and mobile push notifications. Tick the box to choose the desired settings and click “Save.”
The Virto Mini Calendar is a compact version of the Virto Calendar App that uses the same data sources. It's designed for SharePoint site pages where the standard Virto Calendar might not fit visually, yet a calendar display is still required.
The Mini Calendar is included in the Virto Calendar App package; when you have installed Virto Calendar App, the Mini Calendar will also be available.
To add the Virto Mini Calendar to a SharePoint site page, enter edit mode and search for "Virto Mini Calendar.”
Once installed, you can use the compact view of the Virto Calendar App on this page.
To switch to the Virto Calendar App, click the button in the top right corner to view the the overview of your events.
The page will display the standard Virto calendar.
Virto Calendar App displays information from various sources in one place. Therefore, notifications on upcoming events or alerts on some changes in the calendar depend on the source.
Here, we will describe how you can set up and manage these notifications in different sources.

The best way to give access to your Virto calendar is through SharePoint. You can add an external user to your SharePoint site and provide them access to view or edit the calendar there.
First, go to the SharePoint site you want to share.
Once there, click the "Members" button.
Then, click "Add members". Find the "go to Outlook" hint In the pop-up and click on it.
In your Outlook that opens, click "See all members."
Then, click "Add members" on the right side of the screen.
Provide the email address of the external user with whom you wish to share the site. Click "Add" once done.
The external user will receive an email invitation to access the site (by clicking "Go to SharePoint" in the email).
They must log in with their email, enter a single-use code sent from Microsoft via email, and accept the permission request.
Users can view the site and its content, including calendars hosted on this particular site.
Users will only see (and edit, if allowed) the Virto calendars on a site they have permission to view. They will not have access to all the calendars your organization may have within the same tenant.
If you want to configure notifications from your Exchange Calendar, be it your personal calendar, shared calendar, or group calendar, go to your Outlook settings, click the gear icon on the ribbon, and click “View all Outlook settings” at the bottom.
Go to “General => Notifications” and find all the notification settings, like in-app and desktop pop-ups, for incoming emails and events.
In “Calendar => Events and invitations” settings, you can find default reminder settings that will pop up in Microsoft Teams.

Unfortunately, it is currently impossible to set up notifications of any changes made in external calendars so that you can receive them in the Microsoft ecosystem.
You can display external iCal data sources with view-only mode.
Its compact design seamlessly integrates the Virto Mini Calendar into your SharePoint site pages. It is compatible with various SharePoint page templates and can be incorporated into pages featuring multiple columns or blocks.
Virto Mini Calendar showcases items in both calendar view and list format. Days featuring scheduled events are highlighted in the calendar with a gray dot. In the list, these events appear color-coded (refer to the calendar source settings to view the colors associated with added data sources).
Click the eye icon to switch from the calendar view to a list of events. This feature is beneficial for daily events, as the event marker becomes less informative when it appears on every date in your mini calendar. If a list view suits your needs better, hide the calendar to view your events in this format.
Since the last update, the mini calendar displays calendars and their categories identically to the main calendar. Hovering over a calendar on the ribbon reveals the categories.
Using the Virto Mini Calendar is straightforward, and navigating between dates is simple. Just click the event marker on the date you wish to view. If you click on an empty day, a window to add an event will appear.
Clicking on an event in the list displays detailed information according to your calendar settings—schedule, attendees, importance, location, organizer, etc. The color-coded category is also displayed at the bottom of the event block. To hide the event details, click on its title again.
You can simultaneously print a comprehensive range of events, even those not visible on the screen.
Use the full-featured Virto Calendar App during the 30-day trial period. When the trial period is over, you may still use Virto Calendar App for free for up to five users.
Virto Calendar App by Virto is licensed depending on the number of users with edit and read-only permissions.
For example, you plan to let ten users work with Virto Calendar App. Two of them will have edit rights, and eight of them will have read-only rights. You need to purchase ten licenses for all Virto Calendar App users, even though some will have read-only rights.
The minimum purchase for Virto Calendar App is 50 users.
You can find details about your current subscription in the "Subscription" tab under the gear icon.
The Virto Calendar App license allows you to use the application in three ways:
In any browser window as a web application by visiting https://calendar-app.virtosoftware.com/.
Directly on your SharePoint site, added as a web part.
In your Microsoft Teams, after being added as a separate tab in any channel.
Virto Calendar App has a built-in auto-assign system. When a user without a license is trying to access the app, they can get the license automatically if there are some purchased unassigned licenses. The feature is activated by default, you can disable it in the "Subscription" tab in the Virto Calendar App settings (under the gear icon).
When auto-assignment is active, you can also apply the 30-days clearing feature. If licensed users don't use Virto Calendar App for more than 30 days, the system automatically unassigns them.
You can find all the information about Virto Calendar App editions on the product page.
You can use Virto Calendar App as a part of Virto One Cloud. Virto One Cloud has three editions: standard, professional, and ultimate, and Virto Calendar App is included in all of them.
The minimum purchase for Virto One Cloud is 50 users.
