To access the Virto Calendar App permissions settings, click the cog icon in the upper right corner and click “Settings.”
Then, click the “Permission” tab.
Here, you will find three categories of permission settings: tenant, a current site, and user permissions.
Check the first box in the first set in case you wish to make calendars and data sources accessible on the particular site collection where they were created.
Next, check the corresponding box if, in the current site, you want to show calendars and sources from this site only.
To select users who can edit a Virto calendar, type their name, surname, or email and click “+” to add them to the list of allowed users.
You can assign them the roles of Calendar Manager or License Manager. License managers can assign calendar managers, while calendar managers can edit calendar and data source settings on the current site collection.
As you may have noticed, the possibility of editing some users is muted. These users are site collection administrators. Therefore, to remove these users from the list of allowed users, you must remove them from site collection administrators.
To edit the list of site collection administrators, go to your site collection settings. To do this, go to your SharePoint page, click on the cog icon in the upper right corner, and click “Site permissions.”
Then proceed to “Advanced permissions settings.”
In the top menu, click on “Site Collection Administrators.”
Now, you can edit the site administrators by typing their names to find and add new administrators or by clicking “x” to unassign any current administrator.
Virto Calendar App roles and permissions
There are two levels of permissions that are relevant to Virto Calendar App.
First level: The permissions of the SharePoint site itself, set by the Site Administrator for user groups / specific users. Virto Calendar App inherits these permissions.
Second level: The Virto Calendar Overlay permissions, whereby you can assign a user as a calendar manager who can modify calendar settings. Please go to the subpages to find out where to find these settings and how to configure them.
At the moment, when the Tenant Administrator selects “Consent on behalf of your organization” and authorizes Virto Calendar App, calendar permissions are the same for all users.
Each SharePoint list and event list has its "Permissions for this list" settings. Here is how you can find them:
By default, the settings for each list are inherited from the general settings of the current site. Information about this appears in a yellow window when you go to settings. If you click on the name of the site whose permissions inherit the selected sheet, you will be brought to the permissions settings of that site.
The Permission Levels menu will appear in the site's header. You can see all the current permission settings for each user group by clicking it.
You can create user groups with different permissions by clicking "Add a Permission Level." You can give users permissions ranging from viewing the sheet to complete control. Virto Calendar App inherits these same permissions.
From these list permissions, only four are relevant to the Virto Calendar App.
Suppose you want to configure a user's ability to add, edit, delete, and view calendar events. In that case, you must select or deselect these settings:
Add Items - the ability to add new events to the calendar
Edit Items - the ability to edit any calendar events
Delete Items - the ability to delete any calendar event
View Items - the ability to only view the calendar events in lists
Outlook Calendar has a similar logic: different permissions can be granted to various users, from "Read Only" to "Delegate" access, where an authorized user can edit and create events on behalf of another user. Virto Calendar App inherits them accordingly.
