Before you begin, ensure you have access to the server. Your account must also have the appropriate administrative privileges to install applications.
The Virto Check In and Approve setup program provides links to the various installation components for the calendar. Virto Check In and Virto Approve come together but are two independent web parts. However, they must be installed together: the installer will not let you do it separately.
To access the Virto Check In and Approve setup program, download Virto.SharePoint.FileCheckInApprove.X.X.zip and unzip it. Run the extracted Setup.exe file.
The setup wizard window will appear.
The Virto Check In and Approve wizard will perform a system check before the installation. All the system checks must be completed successfully to proceed with the installation. After the checks have been completed, click “Next.”
Check the box, “I accept the terms in the License Agreement,” and click “Next.”
Select the web application(s) where you want to install the product.
You must be logged in to the SharePoint server with a site collection administrator account to activate Bulk Check In and Approve automatically.
Click “Next.” Click “Close” to complete the installation.

Bulk Check In and Approve allows you to check in a large group of previously uploaded and checked-out documents at once and approve them (when you set up a SharePoint list or a library, the items or files sometimes need to be approved). You can decide whether to check in the files as published or draft versions.

To start using the Virto SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web part on modern SharePoint 2019 sites or pages, please follow these steps or read the ReadMe_SPFX_ModernSites.txt if provided.
To install the SPFx web part, run the Setup.exe file as administrator under the farm administrator account.
Create an App Catalog in your SharePoint if necessary: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/administration/manage-the-app-catalog.
The .sppkg file will be automatically uploaded to “Apps for SharePoint.” Now you can add the web part to the modern pages or sites.
Please do not use the service administrative account to install and activate the SPFx web part on your sites.
The expected outage time is from two minutes to several hours, depending on your hardware and the number of SharePoint sites. However, we recommend all Virto users upgrade or install the web part on a weekend.
If you are trying to install the web part on SharePoint 2019 server, you may get the below error while adding it to your site: "Sorry, apps are turned off. Tell them to enable apps if you know who runs the server."
Here are the possible reasons and solutions:
If you still have the same error after trying the above solutions, please open a ticket to let our technicians analyze the problem.
Reason
Solution
Apps are not enabled in your farm
Ensure you have apps enabled in your SharePoint 2019 farm.
Subscription service is not setup
The first and most likely problem is that the subscription service is not configured in your farm. Please configure it.
The app management service is not associated with your web application
Make sure the app management service application is associated with the web application where you want to add the SPFx web part.
App URL is not configured
If you have not configured the app URLs, please ensure you have given values to App Domain and App Prefix in your App Store settings.
Please refer to the Virto license manager guide for detailed instructions on online/offline activation and deactivation.
With CAML builder, you can define search parameters to filter files in a library.
Set conditions to display only the required files from this library.
If you already use Bulk Check In and Approve by Virto and need to upgrade it to the latest version, download the.zip file from http://www.virtosoftware.com. Unzip the file and run setup.exe as described in the Installing Bulk Check In and Approve web part section.
In step 3, check the box “Upgrade” and click “Next.”
To uninstall the component:
1. Double-click the Setup.exe extracted from the downloaded Virto.SharePoint.FileUploader.X.X.zip file.
2. The program performs the system checks again. Once that has been completed, the program will prompt you to repair or remove the solution. Select “Remove”, and click “Next.”
When you have installed and activated Bulk Check In and Approve by Virto, you can use it as either a web part on a SharePoint site page or an additional feature on the ribbon in a SharePoint list or library.
With the bulk check-in function, you can avoid the need for manually checking in each file individually. It enables you to check in multiple files quickly in a simple interface. Checked-in files are marked with a special icon. Usually in SharePoint, you cannot check in files at the same time; Bulk Check In and Approve makes this possible.
To check in multiple files, open the ribbon and click “Bulk Check In.”
Choose the files and use the “Check In” button to check them in or “Discard Check Out” to check these files out (if they were checked in.)
If document versioning is enabled, users with the ability to approve can approve or reject files (current versions).
Go to the “Actions” menu in a document library and click “Bulk Approve.”
You can define the view and choose files to be approved or rejected. Depending on the file’s status, you can approve or reject it or assign it the “Pending” status.
Using the tree view, you can select files to edit from child folders.
Select files that need to be approved, rejected, checked in, or checked out, then click OK.
Fast search allows you to find files in a library quickly. The autosuggestion feature can be used as well.
When you have installed and activated Virto SharePoint Bulk Check In and Approve, you can use it either as a web part placed on a SharePoint site page or as an additional feature in the “Action” menu.
If you need to use Virto SharePoint Bulk Check In and Approve as a web part, switch to edit mode on the SharePoint site page, click “Add web part,” and find “Virto Bulk Check In” from the list of Virto solutions and click “Add.”
Click "Edit web part" to define the web part settings.
Select the SharePoint site URL and choose the source list (and folder if needed) that contains the required files to approve, reject, check in, or check out.
Select a default view to display files and define a redirect URL if you need to be redirected to another page when changes are applied to the files.
Click “OK” or “Apply” to save the settings.
