SharePoint Workflow 2010 now includes a dedicated service for managing metadata across the enterprise. This managed metadata service enables content owners to maintain a centrally managed, structured taxonomy while also allowing users to contribute to an unstructured "folksonomy" through managed keywords. This feature makes it easier for users to classify content and encourages consistent terminology, enhancing metadata quality within the system. With these activities, you can work with managed metadata directly from SharePoint Designer.
