# “You have reached the maximum number (15) of calendar entries”: what to do Source: [https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/virto-shared-calendar/working-with-calendar/maximum-number-15-calendar-entries/](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/virto-shared-calendar/working-with-calendar/maximum-number-15-calendar-entries/) Product: Virto Shared Calendar Updated: 2026-10-29 When you save a new event, Virto Shared Calendar may show this message under the event form: > You have reached the maximum number (15) of calendar entries. The event is not saved. This page explains why and what to do. ## Why the message appears The Free plan of Virto Shared Calendar allows **up to 15 entries in each calendar**. You can create as many calendars as you like, and each one can hold 15 entries. When a calendar already has 15 entries, only a user covered by a paid license can add more to it. The message appears when the person saving the event is not covered by a valid license, for one of these reasons: - your organization uses the Free plan; - the paid license has expired; - your organization has a license for a set number of users, and your account is not one of the licensed users; - the license was bought, but Virto Shared Calendar does not see it for your organization yet. People who only **view** calendars never need a license, on any plan. ## If you are on the Free plan A license is required for every user who creates or edits calendars with more than 15 entries. Open **Shared Calendar** > **Subscription** and click **Purchase**, or see the plans on the [Virto Shared Calendar product page](https://www.virtosoftware.com/microsoft-teams/virto-teams-shared-calendar/). You can also keep the calendar on the Free plan: delete entries you no longer need, or start a new calendar for the next period. ## If you have already bought a license 1. Open Virto Shared Calendar in Microsoft Teams or in the browser. 2. Go to the **Shared Calendar** tab and click **Subscription**. Opening this page reads your license from VirtoSoftware again. 3. Check the fields on the page: - **Edition** should no longer say **Free**. - **License status** should be valid, not **Expired** or **Invalid**. - **Domain** is your organization's SharePoint domain, for example `contoso.sharepoint.com`. The license belongs to this domain. - **Expires on** shows the end of the paid period. 4. If your license covers a set number of users, the page shows **Users count**, for example `3/5`. Add every person who creates or edits events to the licensed users. A user who is not on that list still gets the 15-entry limit. A license for unlimited users does not need this step. 5. Go back to the calendar and save the event again. There is no field for a license key in Virto Shared Calendar. If you received a key or an order number by email and the **Subscription** page still shows the **Free** edition, send the order number and your SharePoint domain to [support@virtosoftware.com](mailto:support@virtosoftware.com). ## If the license has expired The calendar shows "Your license is expired. Please renew your subscription." A calendar with more than 15 entries then stays visible, but its events can no longer be added or edited. Renew from the **Subscription** page. Events you already created stay in the calendar. ## Related pages - [Subscription](/docs/virto-shared-calendar/working-with-calendar/subscription/) - [Permissions](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/virto-shared-calendar/calendar-settings/permissions/index.md) - [How to renew, turn off auto-renewal, change the card or get an invoice for a Virto subscription](/docs/manage-your-subscription/)
