Active Directory Authentication
Show password to user: in the Use E-mail address mode the new password is not shown on the page; it is sent by e-mail (see How Password Reset Works).
If you define This page public url, external users will be able to reset the password and receive a new one using this public URL.
Active Directory authentication enables users to enter the same login and password to logon to the SharePoint site as for logging to Windows system. In this case automatic SharePoint authentication can be adjusted.
The settings also contain these options:
- Show captcha — shows a captcha in the form.
- Unlock Account Automatically — unlock a locked user account automatically.
- Enable Account Automatically — enable a disabled user account automatically.
- User must change password at next logon — the user has to change the new password at the next logon.
- Check for valid user E-mail — check the e-mail address that the user enters in the form.
- Allow resetting password to users from the following organizational unit(s) — one full OU path per line (for example,
Departments\Marketing). - Localization — the language of the classic web part: German, English or French. The modern web part is shown in the language of the site.
