Adding Upload as a web part

Besides the buttons in libraries, every operation is available as a web part, so you can place it on any page. The web parts are “Virto Multiple File Upload”, “Virto Multiple File Edit” (classic: “Virto Multiple Data Edit”), “Virto Multiple File Download”, “Virto Multiple File Delete”, “Virto Multiple File Copy and Move” (classic: “Virto Multiple File Copy & Move”) and “Virto Multiple File CheckIn” (classic: “Virto Multiple Check-In”). They are added and configured the same way.

Modern page

  1. Make sure the app “Virto Multiple File Operations” is added to the site (Site contents).
  2. Edit the page, click +, and choose the web part from the Virto Solutions group.
  3. In the web part properties, click Configure Web Part. Select the library in Select List and the view in Select View, then click Save. Bulk Settings opens the settings of this web part.
  4. In Appearance, set the height and width or keep “Adjust webpart height” and “Adjust width to fit page”.
  5. Publish the page.

Classic page

  1. Edit the page and choose Insert → Web Part and add the web part. Save the page: until it is configured, the web part shows “Configuration is not set for this Web Part”.
  2. Open the web part menu and choose Edit Web Part. In Multiple Operations web part settings, click Configure WebPart.
  3. Select the library and the view and click Save.

Note: on SharePoint Server Subscription Edition, the tool pane for classic web parts is turned off by default. A farm administrator turns it on for a site collection with Enable-SPToolPane -Identity <site collection URL>.
