Product: Virto License Manager
Updated: 2026-10-20

Usually you do not need to install the License Manager separately: it is installed or updated together with each Virto product. Install or update it on its own when a Virto product reports that the installed License Manager is older than it requires.

The License Manager package is available for each SharePoint version:

- SharePoint Server Subscription Edition: [Virto.WebLicenseManager.SE.zip](https://download.virtosoftware.com/SE/Virto.WebLicenseManager.SE.zip)
- SharePoint Server 2019: [Virto.WebLicenseManager.2019.zip](https://download.virtosoftware.com/2019/Virto.WebLicenseManager.2019.zip)
- SharePoint Server 2016: [Virto.WebLicenseManager.2016.zip](https://download.virtosoftware.com/2016/Virto.WebLicenseManager.2016.zip)

Each Virto product package also contains the **Virto.WebLicenseManager** folder with the same set of files.

## Package contents

Unzip the package. The **Virto.CA.WLM.Setup** folder of the Subscription Edition package contains:

- **SetupSE.exe** (SharePoint Server Subscription Edition) and **Setup.exe** — the setup wizard;
- **Deploy.ps1** — a script that installs the solution or updates an installed one;
- **Virto.CA.WLM.wsp** — the SharePoint solution;
- **Virto-Installer-CodeSigning.cer** — the certificate the setup program is signed with;
- **ReadMe.txt**, **VersionHistory.txt**, **EULA.rtf**.

## Install or update with the setup wizard

On a SharePoint server, run the setup program as a farm administrator and follow the steps.

## Install or update with PowerShell

Open the SharePoint Management Shell as a farm administrator in the **Virto.CA.WLM.Setup** folder and run `.\Deploy.ps1`. If the License Manager is already installed, the script updates it to the version in the package.

## Check the result

After the installation or update, open **Central Administration** → **Virtosoftware Web License Manager** → **Health** and check that the solution is **Deployed** and the timer jobs are **Running** (see [License Manager status and site license health](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/virto-license-manager/license-manager-status-and-site-license-health/index.md)).
