Virto Charts App offers five chart types. This page describes the settings and filters of each type and how to print or save a chart. To add a chart to a dashboard, see [Creating a chart](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/virto-charts/creating-a-chart/index.md).

## Status

The Status chart displays tasks by their status.

You can display all the tasks from the chosen list or apply filters. For example, to show only the tasks with a due date in the last 30 days, first choose **Due Date**:

![Status chart filter dropdown with Due Date selected among Tasks, Start Date, Created and Modified](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_status_2-575x243.png)

Then pick the period **Last 30 days** in the dates dropdown.

You can also use this chart to track a budget. Just make sure the list has the appropriate field.

## Members

The Members chart works the same way: it shows the tasks by the chosen field, grouped by assignee. In the chart settings, choose the field to display. For example, if you choose **Priority**, the tasks are displayed by their priority and by the people they are assigned to.

![Members chart settings with the field to display set to Priority and User Field set to Assigned To](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_members_1-351x307.png)

Besides the assignee, you can group by users from the **Created By** or **Modified By** field.

![User field dropdown with the options Assigned To, Created By and Modified By](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_members_2-342x198.png)

The Members chart can display all tasks grouped by assignee:

You can also apply filters. For example, to show the tasks created within a chosen period, choose the **Created** field:

![Members chart filter dropdown with Created selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_members_4-649x239.png)

Then define the period.

## Completion

Use the Completion chart to see which tasks were completed in time and which are overdue. In the chart settings, choose the field to display: **Priority**, **Task Status**, **Labels**, **Project** or **Goal**.

![Completion chart settings with the field to display options Priority, Task Status, Labels, Project and Goal](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_completion_1-362x332.png)

For this chart type, also pick a due date field: **Start Date**, **Due Date**, **Modified** or **Created**.

![Due date field dropdown with the options Start Date, Due Date, Modified and Created](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_completion_2-341x237.png)

The chart shows the share of tasks completed in time and overdue:

Apply filters by choosing parameters from the dropdown:

![Completion chart filter dropdown with Due Date selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_completion_4-598x379.png)

You can also pick a period:

![Dates dropdown of the Completion chart with This month selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_completion_5-695x374.png)

And filter the data by the chosen field to display, for example, by status:

> **Note:** this chart shows only the tasks with a due date set.

If some tasks have no due date, the chart shows a notification with their number. To include these tasks in the chart, go to the source list and set their due dates.

## Burndown

The Burndown chart shows the tasks left to do. In the chart settings, define the field to display: **Priority**, **Task Status**, **Labels** or **Project**.

![Burndown chart settings with the Field to display dropdown open](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_burndown_1-344x227.png)

![Burndown by Tasks line chart showing new, open and closed tasks by day](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_burndown_2-939x440.png)

For the Burndown chart, choose the period:

![Period dropdown of the Burndown chart with This month selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_burndown_3-602x207.png)

The Burndown chart also needs the **Display as Open** and **Display as Done** fields:

![Display as Open and Display as Done filters in the Burndown chart toolbar](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_burndown_4-686x47.png)

For example, you may want to count tasks that are in progress, deferred or waiting on someone else as **open** tasks:

![Display as Open dropdown with Deferred, In Progress and Waiting on someone else selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_burndown_5-207x228.png)

Now define the tasks to count as **completed**:

![Display as Done dropdown with only Completed selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_burndown_6-151x234.png)

This way you can see whether the project is healthy and the team works well.

## Lead Time

The Lead Time chart shows how much time passed between the moment a task was created and the moment it was completed. On this chart you can compare the values for a recent period with the values for the whole period.

For this chart, choose the fields to display (see the chart legend) and the period:

![Period dropdown of the Average Lead Time chart with Last 7 days selected](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_lead_time_1-322x196.png)

For example, in the screenshot below the tasks are grouped by product, and you can see the time spent on tasks for the whole period and for the last 7 days.

![Average Lead Time stacked bar chart comparing all time with the last 7 days, grouped by product](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/virto_charts_lead_time_2-939x432.png)

The Lead Time chart is especially useful for tracking support team tickets or analyzing telesales work.

## Print or save a chart

You can print any chart or save it as an image or a PDF file. Supported image formats are PNG, JPEG and SVG. Open the export menu of the chart and choose the required option.
