There are three options for creating a new Kanban board.

- [**From an existing SharePoint list**](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/kanban-board-pro/kanban-board-features-and-settings/how-to-configure-board-for-an-existing-list/index.md)—here, you need to choose a list you wish to use as a data source for your board. A task list is usually used for a Kanban board, but you can use any custom list from SharePoint. If any required fields are missing, you can add them in the board settings.
- [**By creating a quick board**](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/kanban-board-pro/kanban-board-features-and-settings/creating-a-quick-board/index.md)—if you don’t know which list to choose or don't have an appropriate list already, you can create a quick board. This way, the system automatically creates the list with all the necessary fields and preferences.
- [**From a board template**](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/kanban-board-pro/kanban-board-features-and-settings/list-setup/board-templates/index.md)—the Virto Kanban Board App supports saving board templates. You can then use these templates when you create a new board.
