Joining Zoom and Google Meet Meetings From a Calendar Event

Virto Calendar App recognizes Zoom and Google Meet links in an event. Add the meeting link to the event description, and the calendar shows the platform’s icon next to the event name and a Join button in the event details. For Microsoft Teams meetings, see Creating Microsoft Teams Meeting From a Calendar Event.

  1. Create the meeting in Zoom or Google Meet and copy its link.

  2. In Virto Calendar App, create a new event, or click an existing event and then Edit.

  3. In the Description toolbar, click Insert link (the chain icon).

Create event panel in Virto Calendar App with the Insert link button highlighted in the Description toolbar

  4. In the Insert Link dialog, paste the meeting link into URL, type the text readers will see in Alternate text (for example, “Zoom meeting link”), and click Ok.

Insert Link dialog with a Zoom meeting URL and the alternate text Zoom meeting link

  5. Save the event.

Join the meeting from the calendar

The event now shows the Zoom or Google Meet icon next to its name in the calendar. Click the event to open its details and click Join: the meeting opens in Zoom or Google Meet.
