“Your account is not included in the Virto Calendar license” and other License Error messages
When Virto Calendar App cannot match the person who opens it to a valid license, it shows License Error instead of the calendar, with one of three messages and a Subscription Page link.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your account is not included in the Virto Calendar license. Please contact your site administrator and ask them to add your account to the license. | Your organization has a license, but all its seats are taken by other users, or auto-assignment is off and nobody added you. |
| Your license for Virto Calendar is expired. Please contact your site administrator to renew your license. | The subscription or the 30-day trial has ended. |
| Your license for Virto Calendar is invalid. Please contact your site administrator to check license status. | The license could not be confirmed. |
Every user who opens the calendar needs a license, including users who only view it. See Licensing: general information and FAQ.
Fix it as a license manager
The steps need a user with the License manager role. That user does not need a license of their own to manage licenses.
- Open Virto Calendar App, click the gear icon and open the Subscription tab. The page is titled Subscription status for Virto Calendar.
- Check License status, Expires on and Licensed users limit.
- Under Licensed users, see who holds a license.
“Your account is not included in the Virto Calendar license”
- If the number of licensed users has reached Licensed users limit, the user picker shows “The limit has been reached”. Remove a user who no longer needs the calendar, then add the person who got the error. Or buy more licenses.
- If auto-assignment is on, any user who opens the calendar gets a free seat automatically. A user who still gets the error means there is no free seat left.
- Removed users come back? With auto-assignment on, a user you removed gets a seat again the next time they open a page with the calendar. Turn on the 30-day cleaning to free seats of people who stopped using the app, or turn auto-assignment off and assign seats yourself.
“Your license for Virto Calendar is expired”
Renew with Renew subscription on the Subscription tab. A subscription bought through Microsoft AppSource is managed with Manage SAAS subscriptions on the same tab. When the renewal is processed, users can open the calendar again.
If the message appears right after you installed the app for the first time, someone in your organization may have tried Virto Calendar App before, and the 30-day trial has already been used. Write to support@virtosoftware.com with your SharePoint domain to ask for a trial extension.
More users after a renewal
If you need more users than last year, do not change the number in the online checkout. The Subscription tab says: “Upgrading your license? Please email support@virtosoftware.com - the online checkout doesn’t handle upgrades correctly.” Write to support@virtosoftware.com with the new number of users and your SharePoint domain.
The same applies when Licensed users limit after a renewal is lower than what you paid for.
“Your license for Virto Calendar is invalid”
Open the Subscription tab. If it shows License error: followed by a reason, send that text and your SharePoint domain to support@virtosoftware.com.
