# Add Virto Calendar App to Microsoft Teams Source: [https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/calendar-overlay-pro/installation-and-configuration/adding-virto-calendar-app-to-microsoft-teams/](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/calendar-overlay-pro/installation-and-configuration/adding-virto-calendar-app-to-microsoft-teams/) Product: Virto Calendar App Updated: 2026-11-03 In Microsoft Teams, Virto Calendar App is the app **Virto Calendar Pro**. It shows the same calendars as the Virto Calendar web part on your SharePoint sites, so you set a calendar up once and open it in both places. You can use it in two ways: - **As a personal app**, for your own view of the calendars. - **As a tab** in a channel, a group chat or a meeting chat, so everyone there sees the same calendar. ## Before you start - An administrator has granted Virto Calendar App its permissions in your Microsoft 365 organization. If Teams shows "Waiting for authorization", see [Virto Calendar App stuck on "Waiting for authorization"](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/calendar-overlay-pro/administrators-guide-to-installation-and-configuration/troubleshooting-and-support/waiting-for-authorization/index.md). - If you can't find **Virto Calendar Pro** in Teams, or can't add it, your Teams administrator may need to allow the app in the Teams admin center ([Manage apps in the Microsoft Teams admin center](https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/manage-apps)). ## Open Virto Calendar Pro as a personal app 1. In Teams, select **Apps** in the left bar. 2. Search for **Virto Calendar Pro** and select it. 3. Select **Add**. If the app is already added, the button says **Open**. ![Virto Calendar Pro window in Microsoft Teams with the Open button and a list of channels to add the app to](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/virto_calendar_pro_teams_add.png) *Virto Calendar Pro in the Teams apps* The calendar opens in Teams. To keep it in the left bar, right-click the app icon and select **Pin**. ## Add a calendar to a channel, chat or meeting 1. Open the channel, group chat or meeting chat and select **+** (**Add a tab**) at the top. You can also pick the place in the same window as above, under **Or choose a place to use the app**. 2. Search for **Virto Calendar Pro** and select it. 3. The window **Welcome to Virto Calendar!** asks you to configure the calendar: - **Choose calendar to display**: pick one of your organization's Virto calendars, or keep **Default**. - **Choose calendar view**: the view the tab opens with. The list offers only the views turned on for the chosen calendar. - **Display calendar selector**: select it to let people switch to other calendars from the tab. 4. Select **Save**. ![Welcome to Virto Calendar window with the calendar, view and calendar selector settings of a Teams tab](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/virto_calendar_teams_tab_settings.png) *Configure the calendar tab* The tab shows the calendar to everyone in the channel, chat or meeting. ![Virto Calendar App as a tab in a Microsoft Teams channel, Month view with color-coded events from several sources](https://img-docs.virtosoftware.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/virto_calendar_teams_channel_tab.png) *Virto Calendar in a channel tab* To change these settings later, open the tab's menu and select **Settings**. ## Good to know - Virto Calendar App does not support external (B2B) users: it is available only to internal members of your Microsoft 365 organization. In a Teams shared channel, participants from other organizations can't open the calendar tab; your own members use it as usual. ## Related pages - [Adding Virto Calendar App to the Site Page](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/calendar-overlay-pro/installation-and-configuration/adding-virto-calendar-app-to-the-site-page/index.md) - [Choosing a Specific Calendar for a Site Page](https://docs.virtosoftware.com/docs/calendar-overlay-pro/installation-and-configuration/choosing-a-specific-calendar-for-a-site-page/index.md) - [Who needs a Virto Calendar App license?
