Add Virto Calendar App to Microsoft Teams
In Microsoft Teams, Virto Calendar App is the app Virto Calendar Pro. It shows the same calendars as the Virto Calendar web part on your SharePoint sites, so you set a calendar up once and open it in both places.
You can use it in two ways:
- As a personal app, for your own view of the calendars.
- As a tab in a channel, a group chat or a meeting chat, so everyone there sees the same calendar.
Before you start
- An administrator has granted Virto Calendar App its permissions in your Microsoft 365 organization. If Teams shows “Waiting for authorization”, see Virto Calendar App stuck on “Waiting for authorization”.
- If you can’t find Virto Calendar Pro in Teams, or can’t add it, your Teams administrator may need to allow the app in the Teams admin center (Manage apps in the Microsoft Teams admin center).
Open Virto Calendar Pro as a personal app
- In Teams, select Apps in the left bar.
- Search for Virto Calendar Pro and select it.
- Select Add. If the app is already added, the button says Open.

The calendar opens in Teams. To keep it in the left bar, right-click the app icon and select Pin.
Add a calendar to a channel, chat or meeting
- Open the channel, group chat or meeting chat and select + (Add a tab) at the top. You can also pick the place in the same window as above, under Or choose a place to use the app.
- Search for Virto Calendar Pro and select it.
- The window Welcome to Virto Calendar! asks you to configure the calendar:
- Choose calendar to display: pick one of your organization’s Virto calendars, or keep Default.
- Choose calendar view: the view the tab opens with. The list offers only the views turned on for the chosen calendar.
- Display calendar selector: select it to let people switch to other calendars from the tab.
- Select Save.

The tab shows the calendar to everyone in the channel, chat or meeting.

To change these settings later, open the tab’s menu and select Settings.
Good to know
- Virto Calendar App does not support external (B2B) users: it is available only to internal members of your Microsoft 365 organization. In a Teams shared channel, participants from other organizations can’t open the calendar tab; your own members use it as usual.
